Private house
Private house,
Seregno, Italy

The project concept arose from the indications of a young, modern client with sophisticated taste, who requested a home designed to frequently accommodate guests, with whom to share moments of relaxation and conviviality while simultaneously enhancing the more private and intimate spaces. Upon demolishing the partitions of the existing rigid and fragmented structure, a large unitary space emerged, progressively incorporating the staircase leading to the flat (which was originally outside of it), the living area, kitchen, and dining area. This projects outwards and incorporates what was previously a simple balcony, now transformed into a veritable outdoor living space, thanks to an evocative but extremely simple and functional design solution.
The result is an entity in which the living and sleeping areas are clearly separated but deeply intertwined. On one side, we find a spacious environment, in which the fireplace, peninsula kitchen, dining table and other items have been reinterpreted and enhanced. This unexpected sequence symbolically marks and outlines the life and times of the spaces, while astonishing visitors and meeting all the requirements. On the other side is the sleeping area, conceived using the same principles used to define the project as a whole, but with a division of spaces for functionality. In the case of the master bedroom, the bed is encircled in succession by the shower, walk-in wardrobe, and private bathroom, delineating a functional route around the perimeter of the space. Stitching together all the parts of the home, a glass-clad equipped wall stretches from the kitchen through the dining area and hallway, picking up the rhythm of the various spaces in the sleeping area, and tainting its solutions and materials.
