The work was carried out in a hilly setting, on land gently sloping towards a terraced valley, backed by a forest, resulting in a natural landscape with a distinctly horizontal style. The functional plan involved the construction of a service building for the agricultural enterprise and the construction of the entrepreneur’s home. We chose to combine these two functions in a single building straddling the terracing drop. As a result, one floor disappears into the basement while the upper floor rests on bedrock. The building’s volume stretches horizontally to comply with the landscape and enters into symbiosis with the morphology of the land. The load-bearing structure, consisting of columns erected at 3.7-meter intervals, resembles the morphology of the industrial architecture in the area— an old furnace plant stretching horizontally over the landscape.
